Mbfw Istanbul took place in a very quiet and mournful atmosphere. The designers themselves worked really hard and began their preparations months before the show. Unfortunately, they were not able to enjoy their success. In the remainder of the report, I will focus on the beauty of the fashion week rather than the sadness we faced this year behind.
Nihan Peker already shook my heart with her choice of muse prior seeing her collection. I was very excited to see what Nihan had produced from her inspiration Suzanne Lenglen, the 20’s tennis diva. As I was able to examine the collection prior the runway show at backstage, I was able to analyze the details much better.I really loved the contrast of both jet pocket and the colorful tapes on the zippers. The color scale revolved mainly around, pastel pink, grey, ecru and black. Initially, the runway show began with the sounds of the tennis balls played at a tennis court followed by a magnificent entry by Göksu Çam with the opening worn by her. The ecru tuxedo worn by Didem Soydan was screaming that, as well as the design, the craftsmanship were from the hands of very talented individuals. The coats and the raincoats in Nihan Peker’s collection are seasonless and can be worn for many years. I will definitely want these pieces in the winter season.
Mert Aslan who is the “Fashion Director” of Marie Claire magazine, was the stylist of the show. I must add that the final touches were also done by him. Nihan Peker produced a minimalist, joyful runway show with her collection. I would strongly advise you to visit Nihan Peker’s showroom in Teşvikiye. Mbfw Istanbul bu sene biraz hüzünlü ve sessiz sedasız yaşandı. Aslında bu senenin hazırlıklara tasarımcılar aylar öncesinden başladılar ve çok çalıştılar ama başarılarının tadını doya doya çıkaramadılar.Bu seneki üzüntüleri geride bırakıp, moda haftasının güzelliklerine geçmek istiyorum.
Koleksiyonu görmeden seçtiği ilham kaynağı ile Nihan Peker, beni kalbimden vurdu. Nihan`ın 20li yılların Tennis divası “Suzanne Lenglen” tarzından esinlenerek, nasıl tasarımlar çıkaracağını heyecan içinde bekledim. Defileden önce koleksiyonu backstage de inceleme fırsatım olduğu için kıyafetlerdeki yalın detayları daha yakından inceleme fırsatım oldu. Fleto cep ve fermuar kenarlarındaki kontrast renkli biyeler modellere farklılık katmıştı. Renk paletinde pastel pembe, gri, ekru ve siyah ağırlıktaydı. Tenis toplarının kortta çıkarttığı seslerle başlayan defileye, Göksu Çam açılış kıyafeti ile etkilici bir başlangıç yaptı. Didem Soydan`nın giydiği ekru yelekli tayyör takımın tasarımının yanı sıra, işçiliğininde çok maharetli ellerden çıktığı belli oluyordu. Nihan Peker koleksiyonunda yer verdiği palto ve rüzgarlıklar sezonsuz olarak uzun yıllar giyilebilecek parçalar olduğu kesin. Kış sezonunda sahip olmak isteyeceğim parçalardan…
Defilenin stylingi Marie Claire Moda Direktörü Mert Aslana teslim edilmiş ve son dokunuşların onun elinden çıktığını ilave etmeliyim. Nihan Peker bu koleksiyonuyla minimal çizgilerde, izlenmesi çok keyifli bir defile ortaya koydu.
