The sneaker-couture dress combination, which we always witness on teenage stars who are incapable of walking with high heels at the MTV Music Awards, was a major eye catching combo at the couture runway shows of Raf Simons’s Dior and Karl Lagerfeld’s Chanel. It seems like the fashion world has accepted the sneaker-couture unification. We shouldn’t be surprised if we see Jennifer Lawrence walk down the red carpet at the Oscars, in March, with a couture Dior dress and sneakers on.
When Kristen Stewart struck the red carpet with a fancy dress and a sneaker combination, it immediately got the attention of and led to a huge debate amongst critics and bloggers. As I hate it how people tend to become what they are not due to fashion; I believed that the courageous act of Kristen could inspire many on creating their own style. This inspiration has shown its face on couture runway shows as well.
We have all witnessed the transition of sneakers becoming more of a street fashion than gym wear. You might even have a couple of pairs on your shopping list. The Chanel sneakers might hit the top spot on it. However, since the retail price is yet unavailable, it might slightly be over budget for some.
The real masters of sneakers, the sportswear brands, have increased the variety with new designer products that range from leopard to shiny gold – silver… These new models tend to blow the minds away and they become sold out as soon as they hit the online stores. My favorite brands, which never go out of style, are Converse and Nike.
If, even Raf Simons’s minimalist Dior welcomes the ladies with the use of sneakers at the haute-couture fashion show; can we say that the era of the high heels has come to a halt?

Bu defilelerden sonra spor ayakkabı- couture birlikteliği moda dünyasının onayını almış gibi görünüyor. Hatta Mart ayındaki Oscar töreninde Jennifer Lawrence’ı couture Dior spor ayakkabılar ile görürsek hiç şaşırmamalıyız değil mi?
Kristen Stewart’ın ‘spor ayakkabı + gece kıyafeti’ kombinasyonu ile kırmızı halı törenlerine katılması, bir çok bloggerın ve eleştirmenin dikkatini çekmiş ve tartışma konusu olmuştu. İnsanların moda uğruna kendileri olmayan insanlara dönüşmesine karşı olduğum için Kristen’ın bu cesaretinin insanlara kendi tarzlarını yaratmaları konusunda ilham vereceğine inanıyordum ve bu ilham çok geçmeden couture defilelerinde karşımıza çıktı.

Henüz fiyatı belli olmasa da bütçelerimizi zorlacağı kesin gözüküyor.
Spor ayakkabıların gerçek efendisi olan spor markalarda da tasarım çeşitliliği giderek artıyor: leopar deseninden, parlak altın ve gümüş renklere kadar … Yeni modeller herkesin aklını başından alıyor ve piyasaya çıkar çıkmaz internet sitelerinde kendi numaramızı bulmakta zorlanıyoruz, ‘sold out’ etiketleri ile karşılaşıyoruz. Benim sporayakkabılarda vazgeçemediğim markalar ise zaman geçtikçe birer klasiğe dönüşen Converse ve Nike.
Raf Simons’ın minimalist Dior’u, kadınları haute-couture defilesinde bile sneakers ile karşılıyor ise topuklu ayakkabıların moda dünyasındaki duraklama dönemi başladı diyebilir miyiz?
