I guess I wouldn’t be mistaken if I tell you that the location of runway of the resort collection was much more interesting than the collection itself. Celebrities and the entire fashion World travelled from Manhattan to Brooklyn via the “Dior” boat and water taxis. The  elegance race amongst the celebrities of the first row was worth seeing. My favorite amongst them all was of course Rihanna. I mentioned that on my  “Rihanna at Dior Resort Show” article!

Although he has been the creative director of Dior for such a short period of time (only 2 years), Ralf Simons reflects the Dior women very well.  The collection is fluent compared to his previous collections. The usage of silk scarves in the form of skirts and dresses was a spot on decision. This collection clearly indicates that the Dior women will not lose her style when they wear stripes and flower prints together.The sneaker trend, which we have witnessed in the couture and the winter collections, continues its journey this time in the form of lace up sandals.

It is not a coincidence that the collection had a total of 66 pieces in the 66th year anniversary of Dior entering the American fashion market. Well, that is typical of Raf Simons!

Dior Resort 2015 defilesi lokasyonu nedeniyle koleksiyonun kendisinden daha fazla ilgi çekti dersem çokta yanlış olmaz sanırım. Ünlü simalar ve tüm moda dünyası Dior vapuru ve deniz taksileri ile Manhattan`dan Brooklyn`e yolculuk ettiler. Ünlülerin defileyi izlemek için oturdukları ilk sıradaki, şıklık yarışları da ayrıca dikkat çekiciydi. Davetlilerden favorimin Rihanna tabi ki ; ) “Rihanna at “Dior Resort Show” yazımda görebilirsiniz!

Kreatif direktör Ralf Simons, sadece 2 senedir markanın başında olmasına rağmen Dior kadınını çok iyi yansıttığı aşikar. Önceki koleksiyonlarına göre daha akıcı ve rahat siluetlerin hakim olduğu bir koleksiyon. Uçuşan ipek eşarpların, etek ve elbiselerde yarattığı formlar çok başarılı. Dior kadını bu koleksiyonda, çizgili ve çiçekli desenleri bir arada kullanıp stilinden bir şey kaybetmeyeceğini herkese göstermiş oldu.Couture ve Kış koleksiyonlarında yükselişe geçen spor ayakkabı trendi, resort koleksiyonunda ise bağcıklı sandaletler olarak karşımıza çıkıyor.

Koleksiyonun 66 tasarımdan oluşması ile Dior markasının Amerikan moda marketinde 66 yıldır olmasının tesadüf olmadığından emin olabilirsiniz.  Ve tabi ki de, Raf Simons farkıda bu olsa gerek!

Ralf Simmons has managed to move the entire fashion world from Manhattan to Brooklyn, with the help of the Dior boats.

Celebrities such as Marion Cotillard and Olivia Palermo were seated at the front row of the Resort show, which took place at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Rihanna was wearing Dior from head to toe. Her powder pink dress was my favorite amongst the all.

The illustrations of my favorite designs from the Dior Resort 2015 collection, as well as the article about it, will be on the blog tomorrow. So, stay tuned!

Brooklyn Navy Yard`da gerçekleşen Resort defilesinde Marion Cotillard, Olivia Palermo gibi bir çok ünlü isimde ilk sırada yerini aldı.Rihanna baştan aşağıya Dior giyinmişti. Pudra pembe elbisesi ile benim favorimdi.

The sneaker-couture dress combination, which we always witness on teenage stars who are incapable of walking with high heels at the MTV Music Awards, was a major eye catching combo at the couture runway shows of Raf Simons’s Dior and Karl Lagerfeld’s Chanel. It seems like the fashion world has accepted the sneaker-couture unification. We shouldn’t be surprised if we see Jennifer Lawrence walk down the red carpet at the Oscars, in March, with a couture Dior dress and sneakers on.

When Kristen Stewart struck the red carpet with a fancy dress and a sneaker combination, it immediately got the attention of and led to a huge debate amongst critics and bloggers. As I hate it how people tend to become what they are not due to fashion; I believed that the courageous act of Kristen could inspire many on creating their own style. This inspiration has shown its face on couture runway shows as well.

We have all witnessed the transition of sneakers becoming more of a street fashion than gym wear. You might even have a couple of pairs on your shopping list. The Chanel sneakers might hit the top spot on it. However, since the retail price is yet unavailable, it might slightly be over budget for some.

The real masters of sneakers, the sportswear brands, have increased the variety with new designer products that range from leopard to shiny gold – silver… These new models tend to blow the minds away and they become sold out as soon as they hit the online stores. My favorite brands, which never go out of style, are Converse and Nike.

If, even Raf Simons’s minimalist Dior welcomes the ladies with the use of sneakers at the haute-couture fashion show; can we say that the era of the high heels has come to a halt?

MTV Müzik Ödüllerinde henüz topuklu ayakkabı ile yürüyemeyen teenage starlarda görmeye alışkın olduğumuz ‘spor ayakkabı- couture elbise’ birlikteliği , Raf Simons’lı Dior ve Karl Lagerfeld’lı Chanel’in couture defilelerinde en dikkat çekici unsurdu. Bu defilelerden sonra spor ayakkabı- couture birlikteliği moda dünyasının onayını almış gibi görünüyor. Hatta Mart ayındaki Oscar  töreninde Jennifer Lawrence’ı couture Dior spor ayakkabılar ile görürsek hiç şaşırmamalıyız değil mi?

Kristen Stewart’ın ‘spor ayakkabı + gece kıyafeti’ kombinasyonu ile kırmızı halı törenlerine katılması, bir çok bloggerın ve eleştirmenin dikkatini çekmiş ve tartışma konusu olmuştu. İnsanların moda uğruna kendileri olmayan insanlara dönüşmesine karşı olduğum için Kristen’ın bu cesaretinin insanlara kendi tarzlarını yaratmaları konusunda ilham vereceğine inanıyordum ve  bu ilham çok geçmeden couture defilelerinde karşımıza çıktı.

 Son yıllarda sneakerların (spor ayakkabı) spor salonlarından sokaklara inmeye başlamasını hepimiz gözlemliyoruz ve almak istediğimiz modellerin listesi giderek uzuyor. Kafanızda belirlemiş olduğunuz spor ayakkabı alışveriş listesine bu defilelerden sonra Chanel’ın couture sneakerları ilk sıradan girebilir. Henüz fiyatı belli olmasa da bütçelerimizi zorlacağı kesin gözüküyor.

Spor ayakkabıların gerçek efendisi olan spor markalarda da tasarım çeşitliliği giderek artıyor: leopar deseninden, parlak altın ve gümüş renklere kadar … Yeni modeller herkesin aklını başından alıyor ve piyasaya çıkar çıkmaz internet sitelerinde kendi numaramızı bulmakta zorlanıyoruz, ‘sold out’ etiketleri ile karşılaşıyoruz. Benim sporayakkabılarda vazgeçemediğim markalar ise zaman geçtikçe birer klasiğe dönüşen Converse ve Nike.

Raf Simons’ın minimalist Dior’u, kadınları haute-couture defilesinde bile sneakers ile karşılıyor ise topuklu ayakkabıların moda dünyasındaki duraklama dönemi başladı diyebilir miyiz?
